EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Required: High school diploma, strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others through personal example and coaching. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, engineering or a related field. Technical background strongly desired. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment in the plant. Experienced in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office and other applicable software, as well as ERP systems.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for providing leadership to production team members on their shift and executes business strategy developed by Value Steam Manager. Key leadership competencies include: 1.1. Entrepreneurial, high drive for results. 1.2. Ability to regularly initiate problem solving or continuous improvement activity and put steps in place to ensure gains are maintained. 1.3. Able to motivate others through personal relationships and hold people accountable to commitments. 1.4. Strong facilitation skills. Works collaboratively with other team members to gain buy in and drive positive change. 2. Responsible for the direct supervision of hourly team members in assigned areas. Responsible for safety, quality, delivery compliance and efficiency. 3. Manages initiatives to keep the plant neat, clean, organized, and under control. Continuously inspects the plant to ensure that safety equipment and devices are in place and being used properly. Maintains a constant alert for hazardous conditions and takes immediate corrective action when any are identified. 4. Prepares reports to communicate production activities and results. 5. Responsible for maintaining and training an adequate work force to provide capacity and capability to efficiently meet the production needs for on-time delivery of customer orders. 6. Responsible for the proper and consistent application of employee relations policies, and compliance with company policies and procedures, work rules, and safety and health regulations. Recommends and administers approved disciplinary measures for violations of work rules and regulations. 7. Responsible for the timely administration of job and wage procedures; including performance reviews, recommendations for job changes, hiring, promotions, and job postings. 8. Responsible for the development of other team members through coaching, counseling, and providing the opportunity to attend formal training classes. 9. Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies
