Responsible for factory operations, including production, traffic, safety, purchasing, material control, manufacturing engineering, and plant maintenance. Manages a staff of supervisors and managers in each section to ensure achievement of Company objectives. Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1. Participates and contributes to general management of Company as member of senior staff team, including strategic planning, forecasts, budgeting, new product development, etc. 2. Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Provides information to direct reports on interpretation of results and approves changes to plans. 3. Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates. 4. Review and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and manpower and facility requirements forecast. 5. Oversees, controls or otherwise manages the following, utilizing staff of supervisors and managers: a) Develops and implements methods to ensure a continuous improvement process. b) Develops and maintains effective industrial engineering department to maximize production efficiency and provide proper facility maintenance.c) Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries, and maximize inventory turns. d) Oversees proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecast, and balance capacity with demand. e) Ensures proper contact with customers relating to job order status and deliveries. f) Establishes and maintains purchasing practices and policies to sustain honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors. g) Maintains communications with Engineering and Sales to resolve situations concerning job orders, new product development, and design changes. h) Facilitates and helps implement Lean Principles. i) Oversees the required quality assurance and control procedures to maintain a quality finished product. 6. Develops and presents to the President matters requiring his or her decision. 7. Executes internal Sarbanes-Oxley control responsibilities with diligence and integrity.
