Tyndall is a praire town in southeast South Dakota. Surrounded by fertile farms, Tyndall is the county seat of Bon Homme county. It is home to 1,067 as of the 2010 census.
Tyndall was founded in the 1870's. It was named after a British scientist, John Tyndall, who was an inspiration to Oregon Richmond, one of the earliest settlers of Bon Homme county.
