Yankton Area Arts Tuesday night Summer Concert Series includes four pops concerts at Riverside Amphitheatre on July 9, 16, 23 and 30.

Maggie in the Meantime is a band made up of fiddle, guitar, keyboards, pipes, oboe, voice, and drums. They blend original arrangements of traditional and modern Celtic music and stories. In the course of the performance one hears original music along with familiar songs and some obscure ones. The stories include humorous and haunting tales of Scotland, Ireland and regions of America where the Celtic peoples have settled. The importance of keeping traditional forms alive is stressed in the performance, and the roots to the past give the ensemble its singular character. The band is made up of four members: Magdalena Modzelewska (violin), Darrel Fickbohm (guitar, vocals & storytelling), Jeff Paul (oboe, pennywhistle, guitar, keyboards, and English horn), and Blaine Fickbohm (drums).

The group has performed at the 1910 Opera House in Wessington Springs, SD., the Pepsi Cola Theater in Mitchell, SD., the Retreat at Pointer’s Ridge in Baltic, SD., the Veterans of Foreign War headquarters in Burke, SD., the Dakota Irish Fair in Sioux Falls, SD., the Goss Opera House in Watertown, SD., Unity Elementary School in Sioux City, IA., the Homestake Opera House in Lead, SD., the Riverside Park Bandshell in Yankton, SD., Sisseton Performing Arts Center in Sisseton, SD., the Lakeside in Okoboji, IA., the First Congregational Church in Sioux Falls, SD., The Roundhouse in Lead, SD., Bramble Park Zoo in Watertown, SD., Rose Park in Brookings, SD., and numerous school shows in South Dakota and Minnesota.

Support is provided with funds from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism and State Development, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

If there is inclement weather, all concerts will be held at the Summit Activities Center Theater, 1801 Summit Street.
