United Way of Greater Yankton’s Clothing Closet program would like to announce their Back2School Children’s Clothing Drive to support their mission of offering community members who are struggling to make ends meet the opportunity to receive free, quality clothing in a dignified, and welcoming space. The Back2School Children’s Clothing Drive is an opportunity to donate children’s clothing, increasing the inventory available for families with children so they may begin the school year with adequate and appropriate clothing.
Donations of clean, gently used children’s clothing and shoes will be accepted from Friday, July 12 – Friday, July 19 at the following community drop off locations during business hours only.
United Way Nonprofit Center – 610 W 23rd Street
Walmart – 3001 Broadway Avenue
DIGS – 110 W 3rd Street
Household goods, toys, or undergarments WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The Clothing Closet is open to families in need of clothing at 203 E 3rd Street, 2:00pm – 6:00pm each Monday afternoon. Vouchers from outside agencies are no longer needed for families to participate, however an initial application process will be conducted asking family demographics and overall need. Family information will also be used to track use of the program.
A reminder that clothing donations WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED at the new Clothing Closet location. Only at participating community drop off locations and only during the Back2School Children’s Clothing Drive July 12 - 19. We are requesting that only CHILDREN'S CLOTHING be donated at this time due to need and storage capacity.
