Sacred Heart Monastery's Residential Volunteer Program
What is the Residential Volunteer Program?
A program designed for women with who desire an exciting adventure while experiencing spiritual renewal, direction, and focus. Volunteer time commitments are from one month to one year with an opportunity to renew annually. A small stipend is included among the many volunteer benefits. Residential Volunteer Programs are popping up at monasteries throughout the United States. These programs offer opportunities for the volunteer to serve God’s people in a monastic setting.
"Our Residential Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for enrichment not only for the residential volunteer but also for the members of Sacred Heart Monastery. The volunteer works 20-30 hours each week, providing ample time for personal renewal reflection, discernment, and recreation. " ~ S. Bonita Gacnik, Program Director
Ways to be involved with the Residential Volunteer Program:
If you are a single woman with no dependents, you can become a volunteer. Volunteers live on the monastery grounds, making a commitment from one month up to one year. They help the sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery in ministries such as education, healthcare, outreach, household ministries, and gardening.
