Work Experience: Two years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment. Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred with emphasis in business administration, supply chain, finance, and/or engineering. Functional/Technical Knowledge: Use of multiple business operating system, i.e.: Oracle, proficient in Word, Excel, Email. Other: Safety Oriented, Team player, Good telephone skills, Self-starter, Ability to influence others, Adaptable to change, Must think well under pressure in a fast paced environment, Must have excellent verbal and written communication skill set, Knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes required.

The Buyer will report directly to the Procurement Manager and will be responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Companies needs for indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services. Job Responsibilities: •Responsible for maintaining vendor files •Responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services as assigned or as appropriately concluded with an internal requisitioner. •Initiate and implement process and cost improvement initiatives for departments •Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities. •Works closely with Strategic Sourcing organization to advance enterprise-wide sourcing programs as appropriate. •Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control and management, negotiates prices and delivery terms with guidance from the •Procurement Group Team Leader or Director, Purchasing for assigned responsibilities. •Coordinates as appropriate, quality matters and engineering and maintenance changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
