Qualifications:
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University •Experience working with youth of ages Preschool through 12th Grade •Management/Supervisory Experience •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Positive attitude •Must be able to understand, implement, and demonstrate principals of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club trainings and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety. •Must be able to provide leadership, on-the-spot and reflective feedback, and supervision to assigned employees to ensure they too understand and demonstrate principals of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club trainings and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, parents etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals •Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time throughout a shift •Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the implementation the 5 key elements of positive youth development in their daily interactions with youth in, as well as their employees, and is responsible for the supervision and review of the hourly program plans, impact programs in the Unit, and staff scheduling. The Elementary Director will engage with Club parents daily on youth behaviors, Club events, etc. as assigned. All employees of the Boys & Girls Club will be expected to uphold the mission of the Club. JOB DUTIES: •Ensure Unit staff implement the 5 Key •Elements for Positive Youth Development. •Exhibit the Club Values of excellence, impact driven, teamwork, and good character. •Facilitate and attend Club trainings, including the monthly all staff meetings. •Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and disciplining Club employees as assigned. •Supervise assigned employees, which includes writing 60 day reviews, performance plans, and holding weekly and bi-weekly one on one meetings. •Ensure that all weekly or bi-weekly meetings for Unit staff occur. Responsible for execution of special events at the Club. •Responsible for budget tracking in all priority outcomes. •Be informed and get involved in all major discipline and guidance challenges that arise at the Club. •Ensure and management Club policies of behavior, special needs, youth success plans and safety are created and followed per Club policies and procedures. •Build relationships with parents of the organization through parent orientation, phone calls, e-mails, daily communication, etc. •Complete the annual Boys & Girls Club of America Impact Assessment. •Provide grant administration by ensuring all grant programs are meeting grant requirements and reporting deadlines. •Ensure accuracy of tracking of all duplicated and unduplicated youth participation in the areas of academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. •Oversee the recruitment and marketing efforts for the Unit. •On snow days and unexpected full days, covering all shifts to insure the Club is able to open. •Continually evaluate Club programs, reporting results according to established deadlines and addressing the needs of Club members. •Responsible for required program updates for newsletters, publications, etc. •Responsible for working in collaboration with other community groups to enhance services. •Establish relationship with school counselors, principles. •Implement and manage the NYOI, youth and staff survey process for the Unit. •Other duties as assigned ADMINISTRATIVE JOB DUTIES: •Attending 100% of monthly all staff meetings, weekly one on one meeting with supervisory and weekly Coordinator meetings. •Responsible for holding biweekly team and individual one on one meetings with all direct report staff and ensuring that all Brookings Unit staff are receiving a weekly or biweekly one on one meeting and that weekly meeting forms are being utilized. •Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating all direct report staff by the creation and implementation of 60 day reviews, performance plans and quarterly reviews. •Responsible for pulling monthly programming reports. •Responsible for budget tracking in all priority outcomes. •Be informed and get involved in all major discipline and guidance challenges that arise at the Club •Build relationships with parents of the organization through parent orientation, phone calls, e-mails, daily communication, •Provide grant administration by ensuring all grant programs are meeting grant requirements and reporting deadlines. •Ensure accuracy of tracking of all duplicated and unduplicated youth participation in the areas of academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles for the Brookings Unit.
