  • Associate’s degree or comparable experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in an administrative support role or non-profit sector preferred.


  • The successful candidate must possess proven track record in office management, event planning, and an ability to communicate effectively. Experience with website and material development, also fundraising database or member management system a plus.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Visual, speaking and hearing acuity necessary
  • Finger dexterity necessary to operate office equipment
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, speak, and listen for a substantial amount of time Some travel required utilizing personal vehicle or public transportation to fulfill job requirements

Summary of Position 

A genuine relationship-builder and team player to enhance United Way’s ability to provide community impact by providing quality administrative, communications and resource development support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Requires high level of integrity, passion for volunteerism, philanthropy and helping people in need; excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of local non-profit human services. Understands and is committed to carrying out the mission, fundraising and project management. Candidates must also possess proven track record in office management, event planning, and an ability to communicate effectively.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General Administrative

  • Prepares monthly/quarterly billings & A/R reports
  • Prepares monetary deposits Maintains staff & Nonprofit Center calendars
  • Assists with Nonprofit Center maintenance inquiries and communication with tenants
  • Assists in meeting preparation and materials
  • Assists with volunteer projects and community initiatives
  • Provides administrative support including answering phone, mail distribution, and office organization
  • Performs related duties as required but not articulated

Resource Development

  • Assists Executive Director and Board of Directors in campaign plan implementation
  • Assists in development of positive community relations among donors, volunteers, business leaders and the community
  • Play a key role in major special events as well as the annual donor stewardship
  • Comprehensive management of donor database
  • Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of donor information in the database management system with quality data input
  • Analyze past giving trends and track current Community Campaign progress
  • Assists in identifying new and lapsed donors
  • Prepares and sends thank you notes, donation receipts and pledge reminders
  • Coordinates and executes bulk mailings


  • Maintain a proactive relationship with external marketing design contractors, media, and leaders in the community to create brand awareness
  • Assist with creating and curating a variety of content including website copy, creation of annual report, brochures, infographics, some press releases and template communications for the organization.
